A must-see movie and definitely one of the best movies released in the 70s is Chinatown. It is one of the movies where a leading man struggles with moral ambiguity, a first movie to present crime in such a complex story and a movie that made Jack Nicholson a star that he is today. It is also one of the few movies that has 100% rate on rotten tomatoes!
One flew over the cuckoo’s nest 1975
Another Jack Nicholson movie, but it is such a good drama that we simply could not omiss from putting it on our list. It is often thought that this is Jack Nicholson’s best film role ever yet. It is a beautiful movie that portrays the mental health struggles and humanity of the people living in the mental institution.
Blade Runner 1982
Blade Runner is a cinema and science fiction master piece that unfortunately did not receive the fame it deserves when it was first released. However, over the time the movie did gain its cult status. Blade Runner is directed by Ridley Scott and it is considered one of his darkest science fiction movies ever.
The Thing 1982
1982 was a good year for cinema because not only Blade Runner came out, but also The Thing by John Carpenter. It is a classical horror/survival tale but we have not stumbled upon a different movie from this genre that is just as exciting to watch. Fun fact! The Thing from the 80s was actually a remake of 1950s sci-fi movie under the same name.
Reservoir Dogs 1992
90s id the decade when Quentin Tarantino became world-famous. What helped him achieve that? His movie Reservoir Dogs with a stellar cast, script and directing. The movie stood out in that time for its depiction of violence and a lot of swearing, yet nonetheless it became a cinema classic.
